Two people escaped the burning wreckage of a small plane that crash-landed Tuesday afternoon on the 91 Freeway in Riverside County. The single-engine Piper PA-32 flying to Corona Municipal Airport went down at about midday on the eastbound 91 Freeway in Corona and might have struck at least one vehicle, according to the Corona Fire Department.

Carr Fire family surprises retiring Red Bluff Fire Chief with a farewell message

Colleagues, firefighters, and the community expressed gratitude and appreciation for Barber's leadership and service to the City of Red Bluff. Lathrop Fire completes $4M station upgrade

The fire station that served as the home base for the Lathrop Manteca District for decades has finally gotten a facelift. The $4 million upgrade represented not just a much-needed overhaul of the aging facility, but also represented an investment into the agency’s historic roots – giving residents on the east side of I-5 a building that they can be proud of while at same time providing functionality that didn’t exist before.

PG&E undergrounding power lines, says it decreases chances of fire by 99%

Nearly a year after the Caldor Fire damaged the Grizzly Flats area, PG&E will underground nearly six miles of power lines to decrease the chance of ignition by 99%. "PG&E's service area is incredibly diverse, and as we get out here doing the work, we will find obstacles or hazards that we need to overcome," said Megan McFarland, spokesperson for PG&E.

Thermal woman accused of setting fire at relative's home in Landers

A Thermal woman was arrested after being accused of setting a fire at a relative's home in Landers Monday night. The incident first started at about 8:10 p.m. when deputies were called to Montara Road in Landers in reference to a female acting irate with family members. According to the Sheriff's Dept.
